Botanical Name: Mangifera indica
Format: Grafted mango plant

Jinwang Mango is a premium Asian mango cultivar marketed for attractive fruit, sweet flesh, and specialty orchard value. “Jinwang” translates to “Golden King” – a fitting name for this high-quality mango. The fruit is medium to large, with a golden-yellow skin and deep orange, fiberless flesh. The flavor is extraordinarily sweet with rich, tropical notes and a hint of resin (characteristic of top-tier Asian mangoes). The tree is vigorous, upright, and productive, with a dense canopy of long, narrow leaves. Best sold as a grafted plant for true-to-type fruiting. A collector’s mango for warm climates.

Taste note: Extremely sweet, rich, fiberless – like mango candy.

Mangoes need full sun, frost-free climate, and well-drained soil. They are sensitive to cold – temperatures below 32°F will damage or kill the tree. Jinwang prefers a dry period before flowering (winter) to initiate blooms. Water regularly during fruit development, then reduce after harvest. Fertilize with a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus fertilizer to encourage flowering. Prune after harvest to maintain shape and size. Mulch heavily to keep roots cool. Container growing is possible for the first few years, but mangoes eventually need in-ground planting or a very large pot.

  1. Remove Packaging– Unpack immediately. Grafted mangoes have a delicate graft union.
  2. Check the Soil– Keep moist but not wet.
  3. Adjustment Period– 4–5 days in bright indirect light, then slowly to full sun.
  • Location:Full sun, warmest, most protected spot.
  • Soil & Drainage:Well-drained, pH 5.5–7.5. Avoid heavy clay.
  • Feeding:Low-nitrogen fertilizer (e.g., 0-10-10) before flowering; balanced fertilizer after fruit set.
  • Watering:Regular during fruit development. Reduce in winter.
  • Pruning:After harvest. Remove dead wood and inward branches.

Harvest when fruit develops full color and gives slightly to gentle pressure. Mangoes ripen best off the tree – pick when mature green, then ripen at room temperature. Eat fresh, in smoothies, salsas, or desserts.
