Queen Pineapple
- Smaller, personal-sized fruit
- Exceptionally sweet and aromatic
- Deep yellow flesh
- Compact plant – great for containers
- Premium flavor profile
Botanical Name: Ananas comosus
Format: Pineapple sucker/slip
Queen Pineapple is a smaller, aromatic pineapple type with sweet flavor and strong fresh-eating appeal. Unlike the large commercial Smooth Cayenne, Queen pineapples are petite, perfectly portioned for one or two people. The fruit is golden-yellow with a beautiful shape, and the flesh is deep yellow, very sweet, and fragrant – often described as the best-tasting pineapple. The plant is more compact than Smooth Cayenne, making it ideal for containers. The leaves are spiny (not smooth), so handle with care. Good for premium home-garden customers and container growing.
Taste note: Exceptionally sweet, aromatic, rich – often considered the best-flavored pineapple.

How to Grow
Queen Pineapple is grown identically to Smooth Cayenne: full sun, sandy well-drained soil, water in the central cup, and protection from frost. The leaves are spiny, so wear gloves when handling. It is slightly more cold-sensitive than Smooth Cayenne. Queen pineapple is slower to produce suckers after harvest, so you may need to purchase new plants periodically. Perfect for small spaces and patios.
