Queen Pineapple

  • Smaller, personal-sized fruit
  • Exceptionally sweet and aromatic
  • Deep yellow flesh
  • Compact plant – great for containers
  • Premium flavor profile

Botanical Name: Ananas comosus
Format: Pineapple sucker/slip

Queen Pineapple is a smaller, aromatic pineapple type with sweet flavor and strong fresh-eating appeal. Unlike the large commercial Smooth Cayenne, Queen pineapples are petite, perfectly portioned for one or two people. The fruit is golden-yellow with a beautiful shape, and the flesh is deep yellow, very sweet, and fragrant – often described as the best-tasting pineapple. The plant is more compact than Smooth Cayenne, making it ideal for containers. The leaves are spiny (not smooth), so handle with care. Good for premium home-garden customers and container growing.

Taste note: Exceptionally sweet, aromatic, rich – often considered the best-flavored pineapple.

It is slightly more cold-sensitive than Smooth Cayenne. Queen pineapple is slower to produce suckers after harvest, so you may need to purchase new plants periodically.
